The Network

concept

The Network is an immersive spatial installation designed as part of a design studio project at Parsons School of Design in New York City. Its primary goal is to explore and enhance public social conduct by functioning as a tool for meaningful and inclusive social interaction. Positioned as a central hub for the student community, The Network nurtures both connection and contemplation through a series of thoughtfully curated zones.

"The concept of The Network is to create a hub for connection and contemplation."

The Network

The design process for The Network explores generative AI as a creative companion to extend and reimagine physical 3D models. Using photos of the physical model, AI tools generated conceptual images that abstracted or transformed spatial forms and materials. This approach pushed the design beyond physical limits, opening new possibilities for speculative and immersive interior environments.

The Network

The Network uses Rhino-generated interior views and AI-enhanced imagery to visualize the installation within the student hub at Parsons. Paired with diagrams, this process builds a visual narrative that highlights the design’s impact on social interaction and spatial experience.

The Network

The Network evolves through a hybrid workflow combining Rhino 3D modeling with AI-generated materials and imagery. Initial spatial forms were refined digitally, while colors and textures created with generative AI enriched the design. Rhino views then informed new conceptual images, creating a continuous dialogue between human and machine to imagine an interconnected, speculative interior.
