An heirloom belonging to a young couple, this armchair came with a story worth preserving. The challenge was to give it a more contemporary expression. One that would feel at home in their characterful period apartment.

A Bold New Layer

We chose Maärta by Pierre Frey, a ciselé velvet with a bold geometric check inspired by the shapes of the Cubist movement. Its crisp blue and white palette brings a fresh, graphic energy to the chair’s traditional silhouette.

THE FINAL RESULT

Reupholstered, the familiar piece takes on an entirely new presence. Bridging old and new, sentiment and style. An heirloom kept not simply for its past, but reimagined to become part of the couple’s own story.
